Large beautiful city for Beatles lovers and others. Great architecture, docks, plus Superlambananas make this city “must visit”.
What to do:
Visit The Beatles story exhibition in Albert Dock(£12.95 pp). Albert Dock itself is very astounding place, especially at night;
The most popular tourist place – Cavern Club. Along with John Lennon Statue and famous brick wall of fame it is located on Mathew st. Also I recommend to visit John Lennon’s Pub(next door) – on weekends they have live performance;
Simply go for a walk to the city centre. Liverpool has very stunning architecture;
In case of good weather take a train to West Kirby(£4.50) and try to see the seals at Hilbre Island;
Or visit Crosby Beach (£3.25 to Waterloo (Merseyside)) and watch Iron Man statue;
Walker Art Gallery is not boring at all! It has a good mix of contemporary art;
Museum of Liverpool at Merseryside is worth a visit;
How to get there:
From London Euston to Liverpool Lime street. Expensive, but fast.
Tickets from London Victoria Coach station are cheaper but journey takes about 7 hours.
Most of the pubs on Mathew street have weekend live performances. Try to do “pint-maraphone” and attend all spots;
Also you can use this map and find all iconic Superlambananas. It is interesting that both bananas and sheep were common cargos in the Liverpool docks;
