Castlefield – area with a lot of canals and bridges. Also home of the oldest railway station in the world
(here was firstly applied concept such as separate facilities for rich and poor people). MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) is located there as well;
Huge Arndale Shopping Centre for mass market or The Northern Quarter for independent small shops;
Peel Tower with stunning view on Manchester (Nearest town Ramsbottom or village Holcombe);
Manchester United FC Museum (adult ticket from £18);
The Vivarium in Manchester Museum;
How to get there:
Train from Euston(£30, about 2 hours);
Bus from Victoria stn (£10, about 4 hours).
There are a lot of vintage and vinyl shops in Northern Quarter;
The Starflyer in Piccadilly Gardens offers a great view of city center.
